Graduate Student Association meeting

I attended the first Graduate Student Assocation meeting for the fall semester in Macey Center Silver Room. I had never been to that room before. I think it is in the basement as my cell phone did not get any signal. The meeting went well. There was a lot of stuff in the agenda. We had food (Sandwich, cookie, chips, and Apple) from outback and I got to drink Tropicana Peach Papaya drink. I could do anything to avoid cooking.

I expected a lot of new students. But none of the new students turned up in spite of my emails to them (in addition to the reminders from the GSA President). I and Abhiroop were just thinking why people don’t attend when they get to meet others and lunch is available.

I think the INSA should have informed about the GSA advantages.. travel grants and computers all these details last week. Too many people together might feel disinterested to attend a meeting when they do not know what it is ...I think :-p

I totally agree with you. Most of the members in INSA (Indian Student Association) are graduate students. An awareness should be created about the potential benefits of a GSA meeting.
