Distraction, Anime, Boeing, and World's Cheapest PC

Technology

Driven to Distraction by Technology explains the impact of technology in day-to-day life.

"The typical office worker is interrupted every three minutes by a phone call, e-mail, instant message or other distraction. The problem is that it takes about eight uninterrupted minutes for our brains to get into a really creative state."

Bleach

I watched Bleach (Episodes 27 through 31). I liked episode 31 the best. The following quote by Ichigo registered in my mind.

'If I'm dodging, I won't let him cut me. If I'm protecting someone......I won't let her die. If I'm attacking, I'll cut you. Here's my resolve.'

This quote shows the confidence of the character in whatever he was doing.

News from India

Boeing displayed a plane that has a possiblity of non-stop flights between India and USA. More information can be found at rediff. Eventhough, many international airlines have placed orders, the first plane can be delivered only after atleast 15 months.

When I last went to India for my sister's marriage, I remember talking to a co-passenger on the train. She was a 6th grade student who was enthusiastically talking about everything from studies to politics. She was then telling me that the Minister for Communication and Information Technology had promised that he will unveil a computer below Rs10,000. That seems a reality today. The Indian government came up with this computer for Rs9,900. The configuration is pretty decent for a novice computer user.
